Obituary

Susan Darrow Ryan, 95, died Feb. 15, 2008, at Dillon Living Center.

She was born Sept. 5, 1912, in Blaine County, Okla., the daughter of Edwin Lyman and Marie Louise Driever Darrow. A longtime resident of Oklahoma City, moving to Dillon Living Center in 2001, she had worked as a guard at Tinker Air Force Base during World War II, and then became a businesswoman and was owner of Zero Chemical Company, Oklahoma City.

She belonged to May Avenue United Methodist Church, Oklahoma City.

Survivors include: two nieces, Evelyn Ortner, Hutchinson, and Lee Withrow, Port Orange, Fla.; six great-nieces, including Janice Sexson, Hutchinson, and Geraldine Bardin, Newton; and three great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Darrow; and two sisters, Inez Alspaugh and Neota Norman.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Resurrection Mausoleum, 7500 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
