Obituary

Susie J. Gough, 87, died Aug. 25, 2008, at her home, Hutchinson. She was born May 10, 1921, in Yoder, the daughter of Jonas and Susie Bontrager Yoder.

She was a life long Reno County resident and attended school in Yoder. She was a catalog clerk at Sears Department Store in Hutchinson for many years.

She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the "Doers" Sunday school class at the church. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, where she served as President for a year, and she was also active in the Ladies Retirees of Sears Retail Store, Hutchinson.

On May 12, 1949, she married Charles E. Gough in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 6, 1999.

Survivors include: sons, Dan and Pam Gough, Lenexa, and Fred Gough, Hutchinson; daughters Erma Gingerich, Hutchinson, Kathy and Jeff Arbuckle, Wichita, Cindy Montgomery, Arlington, Va., and Peggy Loyd, Wichita; sister, Polly Keim, Yoder; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell and Pastor Curtis Gough presiding. Friends may sign the register 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church or Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the mortuary.
