Susie May Miller, 93, of rural Hutchinson, went to her heavenly home on March 6, 2017. She was born July 3, 1923, in Hutchinson, to Samuel M. and Nettie (Miller) Beachy.

Susie was a homemaker and a charter member of Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church. She placed her faith in Jesus Christ in her youth, and was baptized and lived conscientiously for God all of her days. Susie was an avid gardener, homemaker, quilter, and enjoyed the beauty of her roses. She lovingly cared for her parents in their sunset years.

On Aug. 31, 1944, she married Willis L. Miller in Hutchinson. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage. He survives.  Susie is also survived by: daughter, Clara of Hutchinson; son, Alvin and wife Mary of Sarasota, Florida; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Sadie Nisly of Partridge, Katie Yoder of Hutchinson; and brothers, Roman Beachy and Harley Beachy, both of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Verna Schrock; and brothers, Melvin, Eli, Alvin, Leslie, and Samuel Jr.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Church, 7213 West Mills Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Lee Nisly officiating. Burial will follow in the West Center Cemetery, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the church.
