Sylvia K. Newlin, 85, of Hutchinson, died July 25, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Hutchinson, to Laurence A. and Florence E. Watson Spears.
She was a resident of Hutchinson and attended Hutchinson schools and Adela Hale Business College. She was the owner of Spears Gun and Lock in Hutchinson. She married Usher F. Newlin in June of 1946 in Wichita. They were later divorced. He died June 16, 2001. Survivors include: friend and guardian, Hilda Wiser of Hutchinson.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
Memorials to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
