Tawana L. Shumpert's Obituary
Tawana L. (Reed) Shumpert, 46, passed away Jan. 13, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 5, 1965, in Hutchinson, to Leroy Jr. and Linda Reed.
Tawana was a member of St. John CME Church, was a CNA for 28 years, and worked for Mennonite Manor for the last four years.
On May 17, 2000, she married James R. Shumpert in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: children, Brice Reed, Kanisha Reed and Jeffrey Payne, all of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren; siblings, Teresa Paskel of Wichita, Harley Reed of Hutchinson, Tammy Gray of Hutchinson; mother, Linda Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tawana was preceded in death by her father and stepfather, Cedric Jackson.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at St. John CME Church, 228 E. 9th, with Reverend JoAnne Dixon-Lewis officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to St. John CME Church, in care of the mortuary.
