BUHLER - Ted L. Cunningham, 82, died Thursday, August 8, 2013. He was born at Farlington, October 7, 1930, the son of Joseph and Nellie Johnson Cunningham.
He was a 1949, graduate of Girard High School, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Manhattan, and served in the Army Reserve from 1950 to 1962. Ted had been the Executive Director of the Kansas Wildlife Federation from 1970 to 1982, in Manhattan, for twelve years and then retired after ten years as district manager with the Kansas State Lottery.
On June 15, 1955, he married Virginia Lee Matlock in Girard. She survives.
Other survivors include: their children, Claire and Tom Waffle of Lolita, Texas, Ted II and Sheryl of Buhler, LeAnn and David Bravi of McPherson, and Dara Warthen of Buhler; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, LeNell Cunningham, and a son-in-law, Rick Warthen.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private service at a later date.
