Teresa Louise Hickey, 85, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at her home. She was born January 11, 1933, in Amarillo, Texas, to Leo Raymond and Anna Gertrude (O' Toole) Martin.

Teresa graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Salina in 1951 and Wichita State University, with her Bachelor of Education degree in 1956 and Master of Education degree in 1972. She was involved in Harvest House, Hutchinson Area Retired School Personnel, Hutchinson Community College Faculty Wives, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, Democratic Women, KNEA, and NEA.  Teresa was a member of St. Teresa's  Catholic Church, was involved in the Altar Society and taught catechism classes.  She taught for one year in Westfall, KS and retired after teaching 29 years for USD 308, including 22 years at Hutchinson High School.

On July 28, 1956, she married Gerald Frederick Hickey at Holy Saviour Catholic Church in Wichita. He died February of 1994.

Teresa is survived by: sons, Marty and wife Jenni of Hutchinson, Brian and wife Diane of Fullerton, CA, Kevin and wife Karina of Lawrence, and Colin and wife Carolyn of Rockwall, TX; daughters, Maureen Wulf and husband Doug of Denver, CO, and Megan Hickey of Overland Park; grandchildren, Sean Hickey, Daci Carter, Sarah, Kevin, and Kyle Hickey, Conor, Molly Kate and Kelly Wulf, and Alexander Hickey; and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Carter.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; sister, Mary Ann Simmonds; brother, Leo Raymond Martin, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Lou Ann Hickey.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 211 E. 5 ^th , Hutchinson.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Michael J.  Maybrier officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Friends may sign the book from 9am to 8pm Sunday and Monday, with the family to receive friends 6-8pm Monday, March 5, 2018, at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
