Obituary

The Rev. D. Duane "D.D." Hall, 90, died Jan. 6, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born April 23, 1916, in Waverly, Neb., the son of Oscar Harrison and Itha Maye Schoonover Hall. He graduated in 1935 from Waverly High School, Waverly, Neb., in 1941 from Manhattan Christian College, and attended Kansas State University. A resident of Hutchinson since 2005, formerly a longtime resident of Sterling, he was a minister for the Christian Church for 65 years, serving 55 years at the Chase Christian Church, retiring at the age of 89, he also owned Hall's Clock Shop in Sterling for 55 years.

He belonged to Christian Church, Odd Fellows, Sterling, served as Grand Chaplain for the State of Kansas, Trustee of the Board and Chairman of the Board for Colegio Biblico College, Eagle Pass, Texas.

On Feb. 24, 1938, he married Mary E. Pollock in Seward, Neb. She survives.

Survivors include: their children and their spouses, Carol Ann and Larry Sallee, Hutchinson, Stan and Gail Hall, Colleyville, Texas, and Shirley and Bruce Jordan, Salida, Colo.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lyle, Loren, Harry and Duke Hall; and an infant sister, Phyllis.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Dr. Robert Gresham and Pastor Dan Price presiding. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Fund at the Good Samaritan Center, or to Hospice House, both in care of the funeral home.
