Obituary

NICKERSON - Thelma Marie Eldridge, 84, died Oct. 27, 2006, at her home, Nickerson.

She was born Nov. 2, 1921, at Sterling, the daughter of Chancy and Rhoda Russell Owston. In 1941, she graduated from Reno County High School. A longtime resident of Nickerson, she was a homemaker.

She belonged to Christian Church, Nickerson, and Myrtle Rebekah Lodge No. 28.

On Feb. 27, 1944, she married Frank W. Eldridge in Nickerson. He died April 10, 2000.

Survivors include: a son, Wade Eldridge (Jean), Nickerson; three daughters, Maxine Eidson (Orval) and Linda Merritt, both of Nickerson, and Juanita Buck (Larry), Ashdown, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Wilber Eldridge; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Doyce Owston; and a sister, Avis Owston.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary chapel, with the Rev. Sara Blodgett presiding. Ceremonial rites will be conducted by the Rebekahs. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.
