Obituary

Thelma C. Hawks, 89, died Feb. 19, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Hutchinson, to Francis Edward and Charlotte Leona Dull Costello.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross and the Altar Society. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker.

On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Eldon M. Hawks in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 4, 1980. Survivors include: son, Bob Hawks (Joy), Nevada, Mo.; four daughters, Terri Schletzbaum (John), Hutchinson, Kim Klein (Harold), Portland, Ore., Joy Goble (Steve), Olathe, and Debbie Dreiling (Pat), Wichita; two sisters, Betty Hobson and Joan Foster, both of Hutchinson; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Stucky.

Rosary will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Church of the Holy Cross in care of the mortuary.
