Thelma J. Holmes, 83, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Hospice House. She was born June 23, 1929, in Utica, to Ray and Mary (Burrell) Webster.
Thelma graduated from Arnold High School in 1947. She was a longtime resident of Hutchinson, where she was employed by Beardslee Fabrics, was a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Hutchinson hospital.
She married Ray E. Holmes on Sept. 19, 1948, in Arnold, Kansas. They were married for 60 years. He died Dec. 2, 2009.
She is survived by: children, Phillip R. Holmes, Jody A. Holmes, both of Hutchinson, Bart W. Holmes and wife Kelly of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Betty Wick of El Dorado; grandsons, Michael R. Holmes of Springfield, Mo., Andy L. Hungerford and wife Amber of Hutchinson, Thomas J. Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a great-granddaughter, Mimi Holmes of Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by: husband; son, Brett L. Holmes; and brothers, Don and Lewis Webster.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Wayne Pittman officiating. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson.
