Thelma F. "Pokey" Howard's Obituary
PAOLA - Thelma F. "Pokey" Howard, 76, died Oct. 13, 2009, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
She was born March 23, 1933, in Fontana, to Robert and Mary Frances Vanderpete Howard. A resident of Paola for most of her life, she was a homemaker and she belonged to the American Legion Post 381, Fontana.
She enjoyed the activities and people at Dillon Living Center, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Survivors include: a sister, Wilma Tipton and husband Lonnie; and two nieces, Randy Wood and Linda Scoggin and husband Chris, all of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, W.D. and James Howard; sisters, Hazel Howard and Eva Davis.
Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Thelma Howard Memorial Fund in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson
