Thelma E. Rankin's Obituary
PLEVNA - Thelma Edna Rankin, 93, died Jan. 4, 2007, at Stafford Hospital.
She was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Plevna, the daughter of William F. and Adalade "Addie" Towse Baughman. A lifetime Reno County resident, she was a homemaker and farmer.
She belonged to Plevna Community Church, serving on various church clubs.
On June 1, 1932, she married Paul Wilbur Rankin, in Reno County. He died Jan. 23, 1998.
Survivors include: three daughters and their husbands, Leona and Dean Zongker, Plevna, Donna and CJ Dennis, Merritt Island, Fla., and Carole Unruh, Arlington; a sister, Velma Davidson, Plevna; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Dr. Alva F. Goossen presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, rural Abbyville.
Memorials may be sent to the Plevna Community Church, or to Leisure Homestead, Stafford, both in care of the funeral home.
