'Theo' Birket
November 4, 1925 – November 23, 2020
Theodorsia Fern 'Theo' Birket, 95, formerly of Abbyville, died November 23, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born November 4, 1925, in Haven, to E.D. and Alice (Dierks) Schrock.
Theo graduated from Haven High School in 1943, and St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1946, receiving her registered nursing license. She was a member of PEO Chapter of Hutchinson. Theo enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of Reno County and the Red Cross Blood Mobile. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, crafts, and playing bridge. After moving to Hutchinson, she enjoyed watching the wildlife in her yard.
On September 3, 1949, she married Kenneth Birket in Haven. He died November 17, 1981, after sharing 32 years of marriage.
Theo is survived by: daughters, Kim Sorensen of Abbyville, Tara Kinnamon (Clint) of Kechi; grandchildren, Becki Gaston (Brian) of Chapman, Kristin Goetz (Mick) of Abbyville, Kade Kinnamon of Augusta and Cole Kinnamon of Kechi; great-grandchildren, Levi, Emilee, Abigail, Elizabeth Gaston, and Lucas, Alexis, and Olivia Goetz, with little Miss or Mr. Goetz due in 2021; and sister, Carol Smith of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law, Jimmie Sorensen.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4 th , Hutchinson, with Pastor David E. Green officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
