Theresa Marie Sallabedra, 81, died July 24, 2012, at her home. She was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Guadalupe and Ventura (Pia) Cabral. Theresa worked for Eaton Corp. and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
On Jan. 11, 1958, she married Robert Sallabedra in Hutchinson. He died Feb. 3, 2010. Survivors include: five sons, Bruce Carignan of Fontana, Calif., Mark Carignan of Phoenix, Ariz., Luke Carignan of Kansas City, Mo., Robert V. Sallabedra and Victor Sallabedra, both of Hutchinson; five brothers, Tony Cabral, Paul Cabral, Louie Cabral, Stephen Cabral, Ernie Cabral; two sisters, Bonnie Stewart and Frances Coffee; 12 grandchildren, including Michael Carignan; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Anita Cabral; and a brother, Ellis Cabral.
Parish rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, with the Mass of Christian Burial to be 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, and then from 6 p.m. until rosary at the church.
