Thomas Frank "Tommy" Roberson, 92, died August 31, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born January 29, 1921, in Darlow, Kansas, the son of William David and Lottie Jane (Haller) Roberson.
Tommy graduated from Buhler High School in 1942, and then enlisted in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Cargill Salt in 1988, after 35 years. Tommy was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
On October 23, 1943, he married Mary C. Berry in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Wayne Roberson of Hutchinson, William "Bill" Roberson of St. George, and Allen Roberson of Hutchinson; two grandchildren, Dale Roberson, and Michelle Turley and husband Joe; and one great-grandchild, Joseph Turley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 11 siblings, John Roberson, Edna Tucker, Wilma Rowland Evans, Violet Emery, Minnie Evans, William "Forrest" Roberson, Schuyler Roberson, Carl Roberson, Irene Emery, Ivan Roberson and Vernon Roberson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Doug Wyatt and Bones Nay presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy.
