Obituary

Thomas James "Jim" Stiggins, 87, died March 8, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Sterling, to Thomas James and Ella Mae Mahoney Stiggins. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1941. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he retired in 1985, with 40 years of service with Dillon Companies as a warehouseman.
He belonged to the First Church of the Nazarene, and served as a volunteer with RSVP.

On June 7, 1958, he married Marjorie Lois Hendrickson in Hutchinson. She died Nov. 14, 2007. Survivors include: a daughter, Myra Hutchinson and her husband Boyd, Nortonville, KS.; a sister, Mae Boggs, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Tommy, and Holly Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles W., and sisters, Violet Marie Vogd, Mary Alice Board and Helen Lorene Stiggins.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 43rd and Monroe Street, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the church, or Dillon Nature Center, both in care of the mortuary.
