WICHITA - Timothy R. "Tim" Hjort, 56, died Dec. 9, 2006, in Wichita.
He was born May 5, 1950, in Hutchinson, the son of Roger William and Bonnie Mae Dirks Hjort. In 1968 he graduated from Hutchinson High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Emporia State University and his law degree from the University of Kansas. He was a resident of Wichita, moving from Hutchinson in1986.
He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include: his mother; a sister, Nancy Mendenhall and her husband, Mike, Derby; two nieces, Amy Jo Clingan, Jacksonville, Fla., and Katheryn Tanner and husband, Brian, San Diego; three aunts, Betty Dirks, Jacksonville, Fla., Julia Helderman, Wichita, and Barbara Gilmore, Keller, Texas; an uncle, Benjamin Dirks, Bozeman, Mont.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ray Kempel officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
