Tommy Joe Wood, 76, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born December 30, 1941, in Crosses, Arkansas, to Melvin and Wanda (Faubus) Wood.

Tommy served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1968. He retired from Chance Industries in Wichita. Tommy was a member of Midian Shrine, Wichita, where he was active in the Tin Lizzies and a member of Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing golf, and riding his Harley-Davidson.

On January 8, 1982, he married Nancy Hornbeck. Tommy is survived by: wife, Nancy of Hutchinson; sisters, Donna Sue Raine and Brenda Duerksen, both of Haysville; four children; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Sammy and Buddy. He was preceded in death by: his parents and two brothers, Bobby and Melvin Dale Wood.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Masonic honors will be conducted the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
