Treeta L. Blanton, 78, died July 12, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born December 21, 1934, in Fittstown, Oklahoma, to Thomas Jefferson and Gertie (Isenberg) Cole. On March 16, 1951, Treeta married Jimmie L. Blanton in Healdton, Oklahoma. He died July 5, 1989.

Survivors include: four sons, Thomas and wife Kathi, Hutchinson, Jarron and wife Ellie, Bonner Springs, KS, Calvin and wife Karla, and David and wife Terri, all of Hutchinson; two daughters, Treeveala Blanton, and Judy Yingling and husband Richard, all of Hutchinson; companion, Walter Cornwell, Hutchinson; three brothers, Steen Cole and wife Donna, Hutchinson, Larrey Cole, Burrton, Gerald Cole and wife Sherry, Hutchinson; two sisters, Oretha Watkins and husband Ronnie, and Leah Kay Kile, Oklahoma; stepsister, Betty Jo McKenna, Hutchinson; friend, Ralph Reed, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Treeta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Danny Ray Blanton, grandchildren, Lynna Corley, Richard Kuhns, Chris Schmidt, and Judy Wing, brother, Howard Cross, stepsister, Eunice Beal, sons-in-law, Dave Kuhns and George Bowhay, daughter-in-law, Shirley Joan McGraw.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Eldon Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Treeta Blanton Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.
