Treva Jenell Ellis, 84, passed from this earth on September 4, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS. She was born March 21, 1939, in Lyons, KS, to John and Clarene Schmidt Handy. In 1943 Lloyd Ankerkolz became the father she held in highest regards.
During Treva's third grade year, the family moved to Sylvia, KS, where she developed great friendships that continued until her passing. Two of her friends happened to have the same birthdays thus cementing lifelong friendships. She graduated from Sylvia High School in 1957.
Treva married Dwight Keesling in 1958. They had two children: Sherry and Dennis. They lived in Wichita and Salina before moving to Columbia, MO, before separating. At a chance meeting in Colorado, Treva reconnected with Sylvia classmate Morris "Butch" Ellis and sparks flew. They were married in November 1984 in Broomfield, CO, where they lived for 33 years. They retired to South Hutchinson in 2017. They were married 38 years.
Treva worked all her career in customer service and accounting obtaining the highest respect and companionship in all the companies she worked. Her favorite employer was BC Services in Longmont, CO. She loved to make visitors feel at home and leave happy.
She is survived by: husband, Morris Ellis; children, Sherry (Peter) Blair, Dennis (Sandy) Keesling and stepson Morris Martin; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday October 5, 2023, at the South Hutchinson Community Center (101 W. Ave C, South Hutchinson) from 12 – 8 pm.
