Twyla Colleen Richardson, 85, died Monday, January 22, 2018, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born March 22, 1932, in Anson, Kansas, to Albert Rentel and Nadine Sones.
Twyla graduated from Buhler High School and was a homemaker. She was an animal lover, and enjoyed raising schnauzers, pugs, and Siamese cats. Twyla was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and foster mother. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church and loved the Lord.
On September 15, 1950, she married Wade Darell Richardson in Hutchinson. They shared 67 years of marriage.
Twyla is survived by: husband, Wade of Hutchinson; son, Brad and wife Sarah of Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Paula Richardson of Hutchinson; foster son, David Polson and wife Faith of Gardner; grandchildren, Ali Atkinson and husband Brad, Samuel Richardson and wife Stephanie, Ross Richardson and companion, Ashley Montigue; five great-granddaughters; and numerous foster children.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Mark Richardson; and brother, Leroy Rentel.
Per Twyla's wishes, her body was donated to the Kansas University Medical Center. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
