V. Jane Hildebrandt, 88, died June 15, 2012, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 13, 1924, in Hutchinson to Robert Howard and Cleo Hanning McBride. Jane graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1942, was a Girl Scout for more than 50 years, ran day camps for Scouts and was a Brownie leader, worked for the Morton Salt Company, and was an extremely talented seamstress, doing alterations out of her house and for Pegues.
On May 18, 1947, she married Dave A. Hildebrandt in Turon. He survives.
Other survivors include: daughter, Nancy Baalman of Wichita; son, William Hildebrandt and wife Lindy of Hutchinson; brother, Robert McBride and wife Marita of South Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jonathan Baalman of Wichita, Jennifer Hays and husband Patrick of Wichita, and Robert Baalman of San Diego; and two great-grandchildren, Shawn Stanley and Korey Stanley, both of Wichita.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Herbert McBride; and a son-in-law, Larry Baalman.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Tim Ault-Duell officiating. Burial to follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice House or South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, in care of the mortuary.
