Vada Belle Morgan died Dec. 25, 2009, at her home in Tucson, Ariz.

She was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Hutchinson to the late Fred and Mary Belle Farney Macklin.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943 and Hutchinson Community College in 1946.

In 1948, she married William H. (Bill) Morgan and moved to Wichita where they raised their family. In 1979, they welcomed a transfer to Tucson, Ariz. Vada Belle soon became associated with arts and crafts activities. She was a 20-year volunteer at "The West," a charitable needlework and gift store. She belonged to the Embroiderer's Guild and was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Tucson.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill Morgan; a son, Steve Morgan, Indio, Calif.; a daughter, Susan and husband Victor Salvatore and grandson Steven Salvatore all of Hockessin, Del.; a sister, Mary Louise Moss and husband Dr. Tom and brother-in-law, Garland Johnson all of Shelby, N.C.; step-sisters, Phyllis Sharp and husband Norman, Albuquerque, N.M; and Ruthann Greenfield and husband Bill, Ponca City, Okla.; aunt Margaret Starr, Nickerson; and sister-in-law, Geneva Morgan, Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Lucile Kruse and husband Robert, and Graceliene Johnson and brother Ed Macklin.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 10:30 in the chapel. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson.
