Valoris Grace Nelson Eickhoff, 89, died Aug. 21, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1924, in Ellsworth, Minn., to Fred and Catherine Heikes Klooster.

Valoris was an avid golfer and a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian, Minnesota. She recently moved to Hutchinson and was a resident at Dillon Living Center.

In 1945, Valoris married Oscar Nelson in Ellsworth, Minn. She enjoyed being a homemaker and farmer's wife. He died in 1983. She then married Lee B. Eickhoff in Adrian, Minn., in 1986. He died in 2011.

Other survivors include: a son, Ronald (Shirley) Nelson of Haven, Kan.; a daughter, Laura (Barry) Nicks of Show Low, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brian (Tanya) Nelson of Hutchinson, Kan., Brad (Kelly) Nelson of Hutchinson, Kan., Aaron (Heather) Nelson of Nickerson, Kan., Michael Nelson of Hutchinson, Kan., Amanda (Chris) Stiphout of Yamato-shi-Kanagawa, Japan, Leah (Bobby) Hansen of White Bear Lake, Minn., Lindsay and Sarah Nicks of Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Taylor, Emily, Deegan and Bryar; Hadley, Addrick, Atton; Zachary; Jessica and Janne; stepchildren, Dave (Joyce) Eickhoff of Adrian, Minn., Bob (Jolene) Eickhoff of Sleepy Eye, Minn., Gary (Joyce) Eickhoff of Marshall, Minn., Mary (Rick) Johnson of New Hope, Minn., Jim (Deeann) Eickhoff of Chanhassen, Minn., Jane (Martin) Vigil of Denver, Colo., Susan (Jay) Sorenson of Detroit, Minn.; step grandchildren, Rachel(Scott) Hieronimus, Jason and Matt Eickhoff, Dawn(Randy)Sellner, Robin(Dean)Walters, Jamie(Aaron) Schauman, Shanna(Pat)Nseumen, Chad(Tina) Eickhoff, Andrew and Paulmer Johnson, Catie (Broch) Tidstrom, Beth and Adam Eickhoff, Michael and Cari Sorenson; step great-grandchildren, Tristin, Caleb, Rylie, Mackenna, Mason, Logan, Tavian, Lydia and Leander and a sister, LaVonne Seipkes of Staples, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter, Vyila Culbertson; and a sister, Catherine Mulder.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, 101 E. 1st, in Fellowship Hall. Friends may enter through the east doors of the church.

Memorials may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Minnesota Veterans Home, or St. Adrian Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.

Burial will be at Grand Prairie Township Cemetery, Ellsworth, MN at 3pm Saturday, August 31st. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, September 1st at St Adrian Church at 2pm in Adrian, MN. The family will receive friends in the church basement after the service.
