Valyne J. Elliott, 91, passed away on March 26, 2015, at Golden Living Center in El Dorado. She was born May 12, 1923, in Smith Center to Alvin J. and Mildred F. (Nason) Gordanier. Valyne graduated from Goodland High School in 1941. She received her Certified Nurse's Aide training. On February 7, 1942, in Goodland she married Lorren D. Elliott. He passed away August 2, 2002. Valyne was a minister's wife and taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include: granddaughters, Pam McDaniel and husband Denny of Cassoday, Patricia Daniels of Garland, and Paula Hatton of El Dorado; sister, Betty Ann Granger and husband David of Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lorren Elliott, daughters, Sonyae Elliott, and Donna Jean Miller, brother, Robert Gordanier, and grandsons, David and Phil Long.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hutchinson Wesleyan Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
