Van E. Miller, 79, passed away Nov. 13, 2016, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 31, 1937, in Dodge City, to Perry L. and Stella (Ralstin) Miller.
As a young child, Van lived on a farm near Mullinville. He later moved to Topeka, and for the last 35 years, he had been a resident of Wesley Towers Retirement Community. Van worked in maintenance at Wesley Towers Retirement Community, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Kiwanis Aktion Club of Hutchinson. He enjoyed listening to music and taking pictures. Van was never without his camera.
Survivors include: aunt, Bessie Zimmerman; numerous cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Evans Chapel, 3709 Asbury Drive, Hutchinson, with Pastor Richard Wood officiating. Graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
