Veda Mae Paul, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born April 16, 1930, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Antonio and Elsie (Hoskinson) Johnson.
Veda was a 1952 graduate of Burrton High School and Brown Mackie Business College, a former member of Order of Eastern Star, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the DUO Sunday School Class. Veda had been a bus driver and cook in various school districts, including Brookville, Topeka, Stafford and Buhler.
On Aug. 6, 1952, she married Lester Lee Paul in Hutchinson. He died June 7, 2015. She is survived by: her sons and their wives, Les Jr. (Stella) of Hutchinson, Ronald (Diane) of Mulvane; sister-in-law, Jo Johnson of Burrton; grandchildren, Daubin Paul of Hutchinson, Derek Paul (Krysti) of Mulvane, Heather Blindt of Topeka, Erin Anne Johnson (Troy) of Pearland, Texas, Drew Paul (Katelynn) of Overland Park, Jared Paul of Houston, Texas, Raven Paul of Overland Park; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Natalie Blindt, Karis, Dylon, Kristopher and Katilyn Paul, Logan and Brett Johnson, Jontay Humburg, and two on the way. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Earl Johnson (Lois), Eugene Johnson (Ruth), Carl Johnson; and a grandson, Maximus Blindt.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 N. Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Mike McGuire presiding. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
