Velda E. Cavanaugh, 89, died Nov. 27, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Rozel, the daughter of Denver and Hazel Hutton Luman. She graduated in 1935 from Nickerson High School. A resident of Hutchinson since 1943, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Tro-M Sunday School Class, volunteered in the church kitchen, with the American Red Cross, both the Boy and Girl Scouts and wa a member of the Nickerson High School Honor Society.
On June 26, 1937 she married Leslie Cavanaugh in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Don and Tom, both of Hutchinson; a daughter, Lori Menhusen, Mankato; a brother, Robert Luman, Hutchinson; two sisters, Alice Johnson and Lois Buggeln, both of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Dallas and Carl and four brothers, Wilbur, Darrell, Raymond and Leonard Luman.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
