PLEVNA - Velma P. Davidson, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Sept. 22, 1921, at Plevna, the daughter of William and Addie Towse Baughman.

She was a graduate of Plevna High School, a member of Plevna Community Bible Church, very active in their women's fellowship, served on numerous committees and was a longtime elementary Sunday school class teacher. Velma was a homemaker and farm wife.

On Nov. 30, 1946, she married Ira Paul Davidson at Plevna. He died May 13, 1994.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Kenneth and Jane Davidson, Hutchinson, Diane and Gale Fowler, Plevna; three grandchildren, Tricia Davidson, Brent and Kristen Fowler, Lori and C.T. Young; and five great-grandchildren, Brady, Connor and Kenley Fowler, Aubrey and Bailey Young. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, a sister, Thelma Rankin, and a great-grandson, C.J. Young.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Elliott Chapel with Dr. Alva F. Goossen officiating. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
