Velma M. Hesterberg's Obituary
Velma M. Hesterberg, 89, died Jan. 20, 2009, at the Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born April 16, 1919, in Isabel, the daughter of John and Katie Peters Westerman.
She was a resident of Hutchinson since 1939. She attended schools in Nashville, Kan. She was a Public Relations Director at Security Pacific Finance in Hutchinson. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
On Oct. 8, 1939, she married Norman Hesterberg at Nashville. He died Dec. 19, 2007.
Survivors include: brother, Alvin Westerman, Zenda; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Wilbert Westerman, and one sister, Elda Dierking.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Thomas B. Mendenhall presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
Memorials may be sent to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
