Velma G. Mckelvy's Obituary
Velma Gay McKelvy, 80, died Sept. 30, 2008, at Golden Plains Health Care Center.
She was born July 27, 1928, in Edgewater, Texas, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel Graham Thornton.
A resident of Hutchinson since 1947, she was a retired nurse's aide.
On Feb. 1, 1947, she married George E. McKelvy in Hutchinson. He died April 11, 1991.
Survivors include: sons, Raymond, Nickerson, and Steven, Larned; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nita McLaughlin.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Randall Turner presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the mortuary.
