Obituary

Velva Jean "Val" Kitch, 76, died Feb. 13, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born July 16, 1932, in Hutchinson to Hobart M. and Ella Hockman Chapman. She was a meter maid for 16 years, then an inspector at Hubco for 15 years.

She attended New Hope Baptist Church in Hutchinson. Val was a member of the Mid-State Street Rods Car Club, and she belonged to the Textile Workers Union. She was the most loving and caring person that anyone had the pleasure of meeting.

On June 30, 1978, she married Robert N. "Bob" Kitch in New Kirk, Okla. He survives.

Other survivors include: five sons, Brad Cully and wife Annette, Brian Cully and wife Sandra, Brent Cully and wife Jacque, Kevin Kienzle and wife Susan, and Keith Kienzle and wife Sheri, all of Hutchinson; a daughter, Kim Kienzle Mounce, Hutchinson; three stepdaughters, Glenna Mitchell, Julie Dunn, Susan Mattison and husband Mark, all of Hutchinson; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her former husband Bob Cully, Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Gene Chapman; her beloved dog, Marcus; and her former husband, Loyal "Teal" Kienzle.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday, with the family present Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
