Verda V. Hall, 91, died July 4, 2009, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born April 25, 1918, in Hunter, to Fred and Julia May Stewart. She had been a resident of Hutchinson since 1940. She had worked at Frank's Clothing Store, Collins Industries and the Coberly Drug Store Post Office Substation from 1982 to 1996.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, American Legion Auxiliary, Business Women Association of America, and was a volunteer at the gift shop of Hutchinson Hospital.
In November 1961, she married Velsa Hall in Sedan. He died in 1964. Survivors include: a son, Eugene and wife Lonna, Hutchinson; a brother, Leslie Stewart, McCook, Neb.; four granddaughters, Diana Dutton and husband Bruce, Marissa Boese and husband Jimmy, and Margo Argo, all of Hutchinson, and Sadie Hall, Chicago; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Chester and Kenneth Stewart; and a sister, Louella Reed.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
