Verla N. Bartley's Obituary
Verla N. Bartley, 87, died Dec. 3 2007, at the Texas County Memorial Hospital, Huston, Mo.
She was born Jan. 22, 1920, in Tonkawa, Okla., daughter of Clarence and Mary Grace Wooderson Pickard. She attended the schools in Tonkawa, Okla. and in Burrton. A resident of Hutchinson from 1938 to 2003 before moving to Licking Mo., she was a homemaker.
She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson.
On July 31, 1937, she married, Alan Dale Bartley in McPherson. He died July 12, 2001.
Survivors includes: a son David, South Hutchinson; two daughters Loretta N. Avery, Liking, Mo., and LaVeda G., Vancouver, Wash.; a sister Martha Robinson, Blackwell Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers Vernon and Clyde Pickard; four sisters, Zelpha Davis, Lois Bradley, Garnette Maassen, and Frances Bradley.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Penwell-Gabel, with the Rev. Darrell Bisel presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
