Verla Darlene (Crank) Chambers, 86, of Hutchinson, passed away December 13, 2023, at Hospice House. She was born November 30, 1937, in Minden Mines, MO, to Elmer and Mae (Fuson) Crank.

Verla graduated from Minden Mines High School. She was a Hutchinson resident since 1966, moving from Pittsburg, KS. Verla was employed at Collins Bus Corporation for 17 years and then Global Engineering and Technology, Inc., in Goddard, for 3 years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Serendipity Sams Camping Club, and AARP.

Verla married William H. Chambers on November 19, 1965. He passed away November 6, 2004.

She is survived by: her sons, Dennis Chambers, Allen and Becky Chambers, Steve and May Chambers, William Chambers Jr., all of Hutchinson; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Don and Frances Crank of El Dorado.

Verla was preceded in death by: her parents; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; and 2 grandsons.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it will be active beginning at 9:45 a.m. the day of the service.
