Vern Donald "Don" Davis, 89, died April 30, 2025, at Reflection Living, Hutchinson. He was born October 30, 1935, in Kansas City, MO, to Vern Wendell and Wilma Mattie (Phillips) Davis.
Don graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO. He worked as a graphic artist for Lowen Sign Company over 35 years. Don later opened his own company, Davis Art. He was a pilot, an avid outdoorsman, and loved backpacking and family vacations to the Colorado mountains. Don was a member of the Sign Painters Union in Kansas City, MO. He also volunteered for Noel Lodge and the Food Bank of Reno County. Don was the ultimate "girl dad", raising five daughters and loving all his family unconditionally. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson.
On My 28, 1955, he married Betty Jean Tallman, in Rogers, AR.
Don is survived by: his wife of almost 70 years, Betty Davis; daughters, Donna Davis, Jeanne Parsons, Janet Davis (Tom Clark), Laura Shea (Tony Oltman), and Sam Davis, all of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his in-laws; grandson, Jacob Aich; son-in-law, Steve Parsons, and beloved sister, JoAnn McPeak.
Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave., Hutchinson, Inurnment will take place following the Mass in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Teresa Catholic Church or the Food Bank of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Reflection Living, especially those that work in the Eileen House, for their kindness, compassion and love given to Don over the past year.
