Verna Lee Lantz, 86, of Hutchinson, died March 4, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1932, in Hutchinson, to Seth C. and Fern A. (Roush) Jones. Verna graduated from Buhler High School in 1950 and from Adela Hale Business College. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a bookkeeper for Sunflower Electric Supply Inc. for 28 years. Verna enjoyed knitting hats for newborns at Hutchinson Hospital. She was a member of New Life Christian Church and was very active in Young At Hearts at Delos V. Smith Senior Citizens Center.

On May 13, 1956, Verna married Calvin C. Lantz in Hutchinson. He died April 23, 2000.

She is survived by: daughters, Loretta Fosnight (Richard), Hutchinson, Linda Woodside, Clearwater; grandchildren, Suzanne Johnson (Donny), Clearwater, Rich Fosnight (Samantha), Midwest City, OK, Stephen Fosnight (Nadine), Tyler, TX, Jonathan Fosnight (Buhler); 10 great-grandchildren, and one step great-granddaughter.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Virginia Kern.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 8 p.m., with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Young At Heart Ministry, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
