Vernon Richard Swank II, 55, of South Hutchinson, died July 28, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 19, 1960, in Hutchinson, to Vernon Richard and Marciel Edwina (Benbrook) Swank Sr.

Richard was a 1979 graduate of Nickerson High School. He was a machinist and welder for BREMCO Industries before becoming disabled.

In 1978, Richard married Lori Case. They later divorced. Other survivors include: father, Vernon Swank Sr. of South Hutchinson; children, Anthony Swank and wife Rhonda of Hutchinson, Kristi Swank of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Peyton, Blaze, Lydia, Marlena and Julianna; sisters, Verna Case of South Hutchinson, Phyllis Swank of Hutchinson, Margurette Dimitt of Lyons; and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marciel Swank.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastor Mike McGuire presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
