Veta Belle (Hugley) Kretzer, 80, passed to her heavenly family on Aug. 13, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Comm-unities, South Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 26, 1935, in Plainville, to DP and Bessie (Veatch) Hugley.
Veta was very involved with all activities of her children, grandchildren, and church. She was the owner of EJ's Uniforms and Maternity Wear from 1984 until her retirement in 2001. She was an ordained elder and deacon of Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She moved to Hutchinson in 1959, and met Douglas D. Kretzer. They married Sept. 9, 1960. He survives. Other survivors include: daughters, Kimberly Neighbor and husband Mark of El Dorado, Kerri Linder and husband Mike of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kurt Neighbor and wife Amber, Kaycee Neighbor, Morgan Blackim, and John Linder; three great-grandsons, Isaak Neighbor, Lamont Braxton, Garrett Braxton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Verl and Vernon Hugley; and sister, V. Virginia Sparks.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Dr. Dixie Voss-Anders presiding. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
