Obituary

Vi E. Collins Androes, 80, died May 30, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born July 7, 1929, in Brownell, the daughter of Barnebus B. and Bertha Mae Lewis Brandt.

She worked for Haskard Cleaners and was a receptionist and bookkeeper for Central Kansas Office Systems. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter #1371, lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and a member of the Hutchinson Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

On Aug. 29, 1946, she married Raymond Dale Collins in Nickerson. He died July 30, 1982. She then married Ervin B. "Andy" Androes on Oct. 7, 1990, in Hutchinson. He died Nov. 23, 1993.

Survivors include: a son, Larry R. Collins, Hutchinson; daughters, Sharon Jarrett and Judy A. King both of Hutchinson; a stepson, Ronald J. Androes, Hutchinson; a stepdaughter, Marlene Adkins, Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; Connie McHaley, Paula Sanders, Rob King, David Jarrett, Michelle Jarrett, Dustin R. Collins and 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Brandt, Anky, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor David Rails presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
