Obituary

Vicki Beineke, 92, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Salina.

She was born Nov. 25, 1915 in Farmington, Kan., the daughter of William A. & Maude Guinn Anderson.

Vicki graduated from Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson. On August 24, 1937 she married Hillis M. Beineke in Hutchinson and they were married for nearly 70 years.

Vicki and Hillis were owner/publishers of The Nickerson Argosy for 27 years then operated Printcrafters job shop until retirement.

She was a member of the Nickerson United Methodist Church, Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of Eastern Star, Elmdale Pioneer Center, Nickerson Boat Club and the Cameo Club. She enjoyed square dancing, fishing, bridge and the "Kitchen Band".

She is survived by two sons, Jerry, Fenton, Mo., Randy and partner, Bill Matlock, Fort Lupton, Colo., a daughter, Kay Engelland and husband Glenn, Salina, a sister June Routh, Kingman, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Hillis on September 5, 2007, a daughter, Jan Hilgers, and three sisters, Velma Anderson, Dorothy Wagner, and Arlene Elliott.

Memorial graveside service will be Monday, July 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson with Reverend Robbie Fall presiding. An informal gathering will follow at Nickerson United Methodist Church.
