Victor G. "Vic" Zerger, 87, died Oct. 24, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson. He was born Dec. 14, 1928, in rural Reno County, the son of Henry and Anna (Vogt) Zerger.
Vic attended Pretty Prairie schools and then settled into a life of farming in southern Reno County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.
On Nov. 8, 1955, he married Linda D. Borth in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Pam Chastain and husband Jim of South Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th Ave., Hutchinson, with the Reverend Chad Trunkhill officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Darlow. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
