Vina May Pike, 77, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Arlington. She was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Major County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Newton and Grace (Beck) Dyche.
She was a clerk at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility and the former owner of Motel 61, Arlington.
On Aug. 10, 1962, she married Darrell Dwayne Pike in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 8, 1997. She is survived by: her children, Jo Shelton (Tom) of Arlington, Dwayne of Arizona, and Oscar (Terri) of Arlington; two sisters, Doris Heim of Hutchinson and Hazel Bishop of Inman; eight grandchildren, Michelle Shultz (Brad) of Gordon, Neb., Megan Smyth (Jason) of Arlington, Margo Haflich (Pete) of Pretty Prairie, Stana Pike Parker (Dalton) and Sarah Pike, both of Kingman, Jennifer Sharp (Adam) of Hutchinson, Charleen Jenkins of Wichita, and Chris Jenkins of Hutchinson; 15 great-grandchildren, Paige, Clayton, Callie, Hanna, Reaghan, Rylie, Tyler and Eli Shultz, Gracie and Grady Smyth, Kristin, Justin, Jaxon and Kadon Haflich and Jamie Sharp. She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Sheryl Childs; two brothers, Earl and Alvin Dyche; and a sister, Charlotte McAdams.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
