Viola Ruth Barnt, 88, of Burrton, died May 20, 2024, at Haven House. She was born September 2, 1935, in Codell, to John Orvin "J.O." and Carrie Viola (Cline) Bice.

Viola graduated from Codell High School in 1953. She worked as an EKG technician at the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead for nearly 30 years before retirement. Viola loved gardening, quilting, and various other crafts. She was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church.

On September 5, 1954, Viola married Loran "Lee" Barnt, in Codell. He died July 11, 1989.

She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Martin (Ron) of Mount Hope, Deb Jones (Casey) of Adrian, TX; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in Burrton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
