Viola May Oakley, 88, died Jan. 21, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born May 7, 1924, in Newton to Leonard and Anna (Block) Danner.

Viola was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Cosmosphere. She married Donald R. Oakley on August 6, 1950, in Wichita. Survivors include: husband, Donald Oakley of Hutchinson; and son, Michael Oakley of Delray Beach, Fla. Viola was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Grace Episcopal Church, 2 Hyde Park Drive, with Reverend Michael P. Milliken officiating. Entombment will be in Grace Episcopal Columbarium. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
