Violet Mae Barnes, 95, of Hutchinson, went to be with the Lord February 20, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson Village. She was born April 24, 1922, in Hutchinson, the daughter of William P. and Lestie M. (Schiffert) Reed. Violet was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God of Hutchinson.

On April 18, 1939, Violet married E.D. Barnes in Hutchinson. He died May 29, 2001.

She is survived by: daughter, Beverly Priddy and husband Jackson of Hutchinson; son, Daniel Barnes and wife Wanda of Republic, MO; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Violet was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, Mickey and Tim Barnes; three sisters; and two brothers.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Private family inurnment will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society or Full Gospel Fellowship of Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
