INMAN - Virgil D. Johnson, 78, died Jan. 13, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Little River, the son of Carl W. and Myrtle L. Briggs Johnson. He graduated in 1946, from Little River High School. A longtime resident of the Windom and Inman areas, he was a farmer, stockman, and retired from KPL after 37 and a half years. Virgil enjoyed farming wheat and raising cattle.
He belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, and was a past member of Andover Lutheran Church, Windom.
On Aug. 1, 1948, he married Faye Carlson at Andover Lutheran Church, Windom. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Darrel, Richardson, Texas, and Darry, Cave Creek, Ariz.; a daughter, Dianne Froese, McPherson; two brothers, Loren, McPherson, and Rodney, Little River; a sister, Nadine Crandell, Little River; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Andover Lutheran Church, Windom, with Pastors Tom Hallowell, Tim Carey and Loren Mai presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
