Virginia Almanza, 93, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born January 17, 1925, in Hutchinson, to Calixto and Delfina (Cordova) Agoitia.
Virginia graduated from Hutchinson High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, volunteering countless hours working at the church.
She married Daniel Ross Almanza in Hutchinson. He died April 15, 1951, during the Korean War.
Virginia is survived by: son, David Almanza of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Mickelle Almanza-Simmons of Hutchinson, Celeste Almanza-Murray of Roanoke, Virginia; grandson, Daniel Almanza of Hutchinson; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Agoitia and Benjamin Agoitia.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ned J. Blick officiating. Private family inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
