Virginia A. Dean, 88, died December 23, 2014, at Hospice House. She was born August 4, 1926, in Hutchinson, to Robert A. and Amy (Houston) Pells. Virginia graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1944, and attended Hutchinson Junior College. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Virginia was a farm wife and worked at Dillons in the meat department.

On July 27, 1947, she married Floyd A. "Bub" Dean in Hutchinson. He died November 1, 2011.

She is survived by: daughters, Vicki Josephson and husband Jerry, and Kathy Kasparek and husband Terry, all of Hutchinson; son, Troy Dean of Derby; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by: her parents, sister, Frances McClelland, and granddaughter, Megan R. Josephson.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014, in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
